Nesian Gummas Has Entered the Chat!

The wait is over — Nesian Gummas is here, and we’re ready to make some serious noise.

We’re not just starting a women’s rugby league team — we’re building a movement from the ground up. From the first training session to game day, every step of this journey is powered by culture, community, and a deep love for the game. Our mission is simple but powerful: to create a space where Indigenous, Pasifika, and multicultural women — along with sisters from all walks of life — can come together, represent their roots, and rewrite what success in sport looks like.

There’s no handbook for what we’re doing. We’re starting from scratch — no major sponsors (yet), no big-name backers, just a team of driven women and supporters who believe in something bigger than wins on the scoreboard. We’re focused on building sisterhood, empowering our next generation, and putting culture front and centre — while making sure *every woman*, no matter where she’s from, feels like she belongs.

And yes — we’ve set our sights on the world stage.

In 2026, Nesian Gummas will be heading to the Las Vegas Rugby 9s. It’s bold, it’s big, and it’s exactly where we need to be. We’re not just going to show up — we’re going to bring the energy, the pride, and the power of our people with us. From the local fields of Queensland to the bright lights of Vegas, this is about showing the world what it looks like when women of culture and character take centre stage.
